Clicker privacy policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

Who we are

Clicker is operated by Monstein Residential Limited. We are responsible for the personal information we process to provide Clicker and its support and administration services.

Contact us about privacy or support at support@monstein.co.uk.

This policy covers the Clicker iPhone app and related support, including private TestFlight testing. It does not describe the company's separate property services or the operation of this website.

Microphone and shooting records

Clicker uses your iPhone's microphone, with your permission, to estimate gunfire counts. Audio is processed temporarily in memory on your device. The app does not save audio recordings or send microphone audio to us.

Shooting days, drive names, shot timestamps, adjustments, bird counts and settings are stored on your iPhone. Records are separated by your Clicker account. There is no Clicker server storing your shooting history and no app-provided synchronisation between devices.

You can turn off microphone permission in your iPhone settings. Automatic counting then becomes unavailable; manual counting remains available subject to membership access.

Apple sign-in and subscriptions

Sign in with Apple provides an identifier for your account and, if you choose to share it, your name. Clicker stores its sign-in details in the iPhone Keychain. The app does not request your Apple password or email address.

An identifier derived from your Apple sign-in identity links your Clicker account to its subscription. Clicker supplies this identifier to Apple when you purchase and uses verified transaction information, including subscription status and expiry, to control access. Sign-in and subscription verification are required for recording and editing.

Apple handles App Store payments, trial eligibility and subscription management. We do not receive your payment-card details through Clicker. We use subscription and financial information made available to us by Apple only for accounting and customer support, not marketing or behavioural analytics.

Apple processes information for its own services under Apple's privacy policy.

Support and beta testing

If you contact us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, the content of your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to answer your query and resolve problems. Please send only information needed for your query. Shooting records are not automatically attached to support requests.

For TestFlight testing, Apple provides test information to developers, which can include tester contact details, app and device versions, installation and session information, crash reports and feedback or screenshots you submit. We use relevant information to support testers and investigate faults in Clicker. This is separate from the app's local shooting records. See TestFlight and privacy for Apple's handling of this information.

Clicker contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. We do not sell your personal information or use Clicker support information for marketing.

Why we use personal information

We rely on providing our service under our contract with you for necessary account, subscription and customer-support processing. We rely on our legitimate interests in answering other enquiries and investigating faults for related support and beta feedback. We rely on legal obligations for records required for accounting and tax.

Providing optional support attachments and feedback is voluntary. Without enough information about a problem, we may be unable to resolve it.

Who can receive information

Apple provides sign-in, billing and TestFlight services. Email and IT providers process support correspondence for us. We may share necessary accounting information with our accountants and information required by law with relevant authorities. Access is limited to what is needed for these purposes.

Where a provider processes information on our behalf, we require appropriate confidentiality and data-protection arrangements. If that involves a transfer outside the UK, we require a lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about applicable safeguards.

Apple's services, and services you choose for exports or backups, operate under their own privacy terms and may involve processing in other countries.

How long information is kept

  • Microphone audio is processed temporarily in memory and is not retained as a recording by Clicker.

  • Shooting records remain on your device until you delete them. Signing out or ending a subscription does not automatically delete your records.

  • We keep support correspondence and our copies of related feedback while dealing with the issue, then for up to 12 months after it is resolved to handle follow-up questions. We delete or anonymise it sooner when it is no longer needed.

  • Records needed for company accounting and tax are normally kept for six years after the end of the last company financial year they relate to. Some circumstances require longer retention under UK accounting-record rules. Subscription information retained only for a support query follows the support period instead.

  • If a specific record is needed for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation, we retain only the necessary information for as long as that purpose requires and restrict its use accordingly.

Apple determines retention within its own services. Our retention periods apply to information we hold or control.

Exports, backups and deletion

You can export shooting records to CSV. The destination you choose may be another app or a cloud service. iPhone backups may also include local application files, depending on your backup settings. Those copies are managed through the services you use.

To delete the current account's records and saved sign-in from this iPhone, open Clicker, then Settings, Apple account and membership, and Delete Clicker account data. Records on other devices, exports and backups must be managed separately. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase shooting records held only on your device.

To disconnect Apple's sign-in authorisation, use your Apple Account's Sign in with Apple settings and stop using Sign in with Apple for Clicker. Cancel a subscription separately through Apple's subscription settings. Deleting Clicker data does not cancel it.

To request deletion of support or other information we hold, email support@monstein.co.uk. We may need to retain information where the law requires it.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the information and the legal basis for using it, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information.

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests because of your particular circumstances.

Contact support@monstein.co.uk to exercise your rights or raise a privacy complaint. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if Clicker's data handling changes and revise the date above. We will provide additional notice where required.
